Something that got lost
At times, you scribble something and don't post it. Days later when you see the post still unposted, you wonder what stopped or delayed you back then. Anyhow, today I found one such post in my blog as well. There is no reason why I did not post it earlier, may be would have thought of scribbling some more before finally posting it and never got to do that. Wrote this one way back in July 07 after a month long trip to Hyderabad. Nothing much in store, however, I think it would be injustice if I do not post it. After all, I wrote it to post it :)
So, here goes:

My first FAT book of 700 pages!
I got Rumo: And His Miraculous Adventures by Walter Moers sometime in late 2005.
It was a gift by my brother. I think it was on my birthday that he gave me the book.
The book is amusing and engrossing I must say.
Rumo is a little Wolperting who will one day become the greatest hero in the history of Zamonia. Armed with Dandelion, his talking sword, he fights his way across Overworld and Netherworld, two very different worlds full of adventures, dangers, and unforgettable characters: including Rala, the beautiful girl Wolperting who is Rumo's love and who comes back from death with the help of Rumo's friends a Prof Kolibri (who has about seven brains!) and Smyke... a Shark (Weird combo I must say); General Ticktock, the evil commander (made of machines) of the Copper Killers.
Bascially, a very engrossing story BUT 700 pages!!! Though it was a two part series combined into one but still 700 pages!!! I know for many people it will not be much but for me it was!
So obviously, it took me a LOT of time to finish the book. You can say LOT = a lil more than a yr. :-P
Its not my fault is it? I used to read books while travelling to and from office. But this book I could not carry it with me because of two reasons:
1. coz obviosuly its heavy
and
2. since it was -S-O- new and pretty I was afraid of spoiling it :-P
(I know..I know its weird. But its true!)
Besides, this was not the only book I was reading. I used to read a book while travelling and read Rumo in the night. It was as if I was doing a double-shift job ;-)
While reading this book I got to know two facts:
1. Rumo does not exist in dictionary ;)
2. Its a card name!
All this while my favorite bookmark kept a tab of how and where the story was proceeding. It was as if the bookmark was reading the book with me. The book had practically become its home. And now that the book is finally over, the poor lil bookmark is crying...its homeless!
Now, I have to find a new book for it. And I want to give it an equally interesting and engrossing
book to read along with me ;-)
